The Magma Mole was one of V.E.N.O.M most dangerous and powerful vehicles. It was constructed using the very rare Endurium alloy and piloted by Miles Mayhem himself.
Equiped with three enormous drills, the Magma Mole could bore it's way through solid rock and deep underground. Mayhem used the Magma Mole to cause havoc in Japan. First, to demonstrate the power of the machine, he drilled a large hole underground that caused water to flood from and form a new salt-lake complete with a geyser.
After that, Mayhem contacted the Japanese Prime Minister and gave him 12 hours to meet his demands. If not met, Mayhem threatened to use the Magma Mole to make Mount Fuji erupt, and cause Tokyo to be completely destroyed.
The Magma Mole needed power cells to replenish it's power. Several V.E.N.O.M. agents as well as at least two V.E.N.O.M. Henchmen were needed to install these cells so that the Magma Mole could return to full power.
When the Japanese Government did not contact V.E.N.O.M. in time, Mayhem set the Magma Mole on an automatic course into Mount Fuji. As soon as it would hit molten magma, the biggest volcano eruption in history would occur. Apparently Mayhem was prepared to lose the Magma Mole in the destruction, as he exited the Mole and called Switchblade by remote control (overriding the pilot controls that were being used by Vanessa Warfield at the time) to pick him up. Before leaving Mayhem quipped that the fearless leader of M.A.S.K. was on his way to the center of the earth.
Matt Trakker entered the Magma Mole cockpit and managed to stop it in it's tracks by using ultra-sonic vibrations from his Spectrum mask. However, he was already over a mile and a half down into the earth and had no way to get back. Buddy Hawks connected his Penetrator mask to the generator of his vehicle Firecracker so he could drive the vehicle through solid rock. Hawks managed to rescue Trakker just in time before the Magma Mole exploded.
